Police arrests person allegedly pushing 16-year-old girl to committing suicide

One person has been detained for allegedly pushing a 16-year-old girl to committing suicide in the Guria region. Officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained the suspect born 1996 in Ozurgeti town. He faces jail term from 2 to 4 years if convicted.

“Investigation established that the defendant had virtual communication with the victim via facebook. After some time, the defendant threatened to send the correspondence to her parents, by which he forced the minor to record and send him intimate photos and videos. After that, the defendant began to blackmail the girl with the photos and video footage, as a result of which, the latter hanged herself in her yard.
