Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili believes newly-appointed PM Irakli Kobakhidze’s first visit to Brussels is “very important” as “It is the first time that a country with the EU candidate status continues cooperation in this format; he [Kobakhidze] came to Brussels to hold the Association Council.”
“Also, we will have a NATO-Georgia Commission, which is our second main foreign policy priority, therefore, as such, this will serve as the primary platform for our bilateral collaboration, and it is crucial that the prime minister chairs the commission.
I believe that this initial trip to Brussels will, in general, initiate a very significant process. We’ll have fresh momentum to fortify and expedite our foreign policy objectives,” Darchiashvili added.
