PM: Zourabichvili can't do much harm, but constitution violator and traitor should leave office through impeachment
“The impeachment has a symbolic significance since Salome Zourabichvili’s term ends at the end of December anyway. Impeachment would terminate her authority one month earlier,” stated Georgia’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze.
According to the head of government, the impeachment procedure will be carried out at the end of November and has essentially symbolic importance.
“From a practical standpoint, an individual who violates the constitution and acts as a traitor should not exit the presidency in this manner. They must be identified correctly, and through this impeachment, she will be designated a traitor, a so-called president. We have a parliamentary system of governance, and thankfully, Salome Zourabichvili cannot inflict significant harm. Therefore, the impeachment carries only symbolic significance. A person who violates the constitution and betrays their country must be removed from office through impeachment,” Kobakhidze declared.
