PM – Russia is responsible for all facts of violation of fundamental human rights across occupied territories
Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said in his annual report at the plenary session in the parliament that Russian occupation remained the main challenge of national security. PM said that 20% of Georgia’s occupied territory represented a restriction that hampered further development of the country.
According to Gakharia, Russia is responsible for all facts of violation of fundamental human rights across the occupied territories.
“By borderization, abductions, murders, restricting health and free movement rights – all these directions are important and we understand well that the country, which carries out effective control, is responsible for all these steps. We have to provide services to citizens in Tskhinvali and Abkhazia regions. They are our citizens,” Gakharia said.
