PM: Our football players are excellent example of how to popularize homeland overseas

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze spoke at a Diaspora Day forum on Thursday stating that “A large part of our national team members are countrymen living abroad.”

The PM said, “Our football players are an excellent example of how to popularize homeland overseas.”

“I’d want to use this occasion to extend my congratulations to our national football team.

Thank you for giving us yesterday’s joy.

Our country needs a sense of pride, our society needs a sense of pride, and I thank them for this happiness and joy that they gave to every Georgian yesterday,” said the Prime Minister.

The Georgian national team on Wednesday beat Portugal 2:00 in the third and final UEFA EURO 2024, securing a place in the round of 16.
