PM: Opposition tried to achieve some success on streets, but success in elections and streets requires public support which they don't have

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that the public supports the government and the ruling party, while the opposition has “practically zero support and that’s the main thing.”

“The opposition tried to achieve some success on the street, but success in the elections and streets requires the same resource – public support which they don’t have,” Kobakhidze told  journalists in Baku.

“Four years ago, the opposition made the same attempt and they achieved some success because we were then forced, due to external interference, to enter into negotiations and sign the April 19 agreement. Now, they don’t even have the resources to do so. Therefore, the processes will be carried out very easily.”

Kobakhidze continued, “Shortly, the Central Election Commission will summarize the election results, then the parliament gathers by the end of the month, and after that, the new composition of the government will be approved in a few days. Most likely, all this can be witnessed by the end of the month. The processes will be carried out very quietly.”
