“These elections will end, same about the war in Ukraine, and relations with the European Union will be revived. Comparing Georgia to Moldova is insulting,” stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
He emphasized that Georgia surpasses Moldova in various areas, particularly, in the economy and human rights.
“Georgia outperforms Moldova on all fronts—be it human rights, the economy, or other sectors. We have increased our economic advantage over Moldova by nine billion, thanks to our robust institutions. In Moldova, political parties and media outlets have been banned, leaving only two channels of the Public Broadcaster, with no political or media pluralism remaining.
These elections will end, the war in Ukraine will also end, and our relations with the European Union will be restored,” Kobakhidze asserted.
His remarks follow comments from EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell, who described the upcoming Georgian parliamentary elections as a “crucial test” for the nation’s democracy.
Borrell also noted, “We commend the resilience of the Moldovan government in facing these unprecedented challenges, and we will continue to offer our support. The situation in Georgia is more concerning.”
