PM Kobakhidze dubs Turkey Georgia's 'top trade partner;' discusses partnership enhancement
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has held a joint press point with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, deeming Turkey as Georgia’s “number one trade partner.”
PM Kobakhidze said the meeting covered “how to enhance our partnership,” noting that “Georgia sees great potential for further deepening of bilateral trade relations.” “We also discussed the importance of Georgian exports and bilateral commerce in general.”
“I informed Mr. President of the processes that are unfolding in our country from several perspectives. We also discussed the processes taking place in the Middle East. Georgia believes in the necessity to build peace in the Middle East, which can be accomplished via discussions with the help of the international community.
Taking into consideration current global processes, we focused on the opportunities for strengthening regional, trade-economic, and transport-energy cooperation. In this context, the necessity of transportation and connection was particularly highlighted,” Kobakhidze asserted.
