PM: Kaladze and his team to win another Champions League on October 26
On October 26, Kakha Kaladze and his team will claim another Champions League victory, defeating all supporters of the National Movement, declared Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
His comments followed a social media post from German Ambassador Peter Fischer in response to Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze’s earlier statements.
“On October 26, Kakha Kaladze and the entire team will achieve another Champions League victory, while all supporters of the National Movement—whether Georgian or foreign—will be defeated. The return of the National Movement to power and any associated celebrations are completely unacceptable,” said Kobakhidze.
On October 14, Kaladze reacted to remarks from Germany’s Minister of European Affairs, Anna Lührmann, who expressed support for Georgia’s European integration but excluded the current government.
Kaladze referred to Lührmann as “an ordinary Kubilius in a dress.” In response, Ambassador Fischer tweeted, “Someone scored an own goal today.”
