PM – It is our duty to commemorate heroes not only on August 8 but every day
Representatives of the Georgian government commemorated heroes, who were killed during the hostilities in the course of August 2008 Russia–Georgia war, at Mukhatgverdi Brothers Cemetery and laid wreaths at their graves.
Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said that it was the duty of Georgian people to commemorate heroes not only on August 8 but every day.
“Georgia lost hundreds of civilians and soldiers in this war, 20% of territory has since been occupied and this is the biggest challenge for the statehood. It is our duty to remember every killed person, serve this country to reach the final goal: de-occupation of the country and restoration of Georgia’s territorial integrity. This should be a target of every Georgian to the victory,” Gakharia said.
Prime Minister, members of Cabinet of Minister, Chairman of Parliament, Majority MPs, Tbilisi Mayor and representatives of Diplomatic Corps visited Mukhatgverdi Brothers Cemetery on the 12th anniversary of Russia-Georgia war.
