PM – Grave crime was averted in the country

We have to stay calm, allow the law enforcement system to investigate the case in a speedily manner and provide us with full information – Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said in Free Vision Program of Georgian First Channel.

Prime Minister was asked about the detention of Vasambek Bokov, born in Ingushetia, by State Security Service on June 15. Gakharia said that grave crime was averted in the country.

“The primary duty of every member of the government and the law enforcement system is to investigate the crime against our citizen and especially a well-known journalist. Correspondingly, the information should be provided to our citizens openly and transparently especially when we all know well that not only grave crimes but simple cases may follow political speculations and political resonance. We are in political process and political temperature rises. Everybody will try to use the issue for narrow political interests,” PM claimed.

Gakharia also called on everybody to refrain from any acts, expression and evaluations that may inflict harm to the investigation. “We have to be patient, wait and then make evaluations,” PM added.

On June 15, State Security Service arrested Vasambek Bokov, born in Ingushetia, within the framework of investigation of a criminal case launched into the fact of preparation of murder by contract and urged everyone to refrain from disseminating unconfirmed information.

Also on June 15, Nika Gvaramia, General Director of Main Channel said that liquidation of journalist Giorgi Gabunia was plotted at the order of Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov.
