PM Garibashvili emphasizes long-term strategic partnership with Azerbaijan
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, during a joint briefing with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, highlighted the discussions held on trade, economic issues, and various collaborative projects between the two countries.
“We talked about trade and economic issues, discussing energy, transport, and logistics matters. Azerbaijan is one of the major trade partners of Georgia, consistently ranking in the top five each year. Trade has increased by 15% this year, building on the record-setting year we had last year,” stated PM.
He emphasized the enduring nature of the long-term strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan, noting ongoing collaboration on the Middle Corridor development project with Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
“We are initiating the construction of a new port, Anaklia Port, with a capacity of 100 million tons upon completion of the final phase. The construction of the East-West Highway is also nearing completion. Azerbaijan is a key collaborator in all these projects. Additionally, in a few months, the historically and strategically significant Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project will be successfully completed. We have a clear perspective and a far-sighted vision. We aim for a long-term strategic partnership and friendship with Azerbaijan,” stated Garibashvili.
