Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday addressed the Energy Day event, saying “The regional gasification program funded by the budget in 2013 connected over 377,000 additional consumers to the natural gas supply network,” deeming it “a significant achievement.”
The PM noted that natural gas would be provided to 400 new settlements by the end of 2025, connecting an extra 57 thousand users to the network.
Kobakhidze highlighted the energy sector’s contribution to the nation’s EU accession process, noting that “Georgia joined the Energy Union in 2016 and has subsequently enacted amendments to align its law with EU standards.”
