Civil activists protested at Georgian Football Federation (GFF) over the fact that fans were not allowed to attend yesterday’s football match between Georgia and Northern Macedonia, while the members of the ruling team were attending the event.
Civil activists were planning to send George Orwell’s “Animal Farm” to the federation, which led to a confrontation between the federation’s staff and activists.
According to one of the activists, two people were particularly aggressive: Zurab Tskitishvili and Lasha Salukvadze.
“They were the organizers of this raid and started violence against us. Then they were joined by the employees of the federation. There were 10-12 men and we were beaten. We have not abused them. I wanted to enter the federation and hand over a book to Mr. Kobiashvili, on which I was told that the chancellery was closed and the federation was not working at all. At that time they themselves left the federation and we asked them why they were there if the federation was not working. After this controversy, Tskitishvili was the first to hit one of the activists. Then the raid started”, – said one of the activists.
Law enforcers are present outside the GFF Building.
The Georgian football team lost to Northern Macedonia 0:1. As a result, Northern Macedonia won a ticket to the European Championship.
