People’s Power MP advocates legal action against opponents of Transparency Law
Guram Macharashvili, a member of the People’s Power party, has criticized those opposing the adoption of the Transparency of Foreign Influence law.
Macharashvili commented on his initiative that “everyone who still objects to the adoption of the transparency law should be prosecuted under espionage charges”.
“The state needs not only the right but also the obligation to stop such aggression and insults. This will not stop without a legal response, which will surely begin. These people cannot stand the fact that the majority makes decisions and not the minority and this will certainly have an appropriate response. When you are a supporter of foreign funding and an organization that is funded from abroad, and you advocate for it while admitting it and committing violence, you are pursuing the interests of another state against your own state. The definition of espionage is nothing more,” said Guram Macharashvili.
