The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II, together with the bishops and clergy, hosted acting US Ambassador to Georgia Ross Wilson and his spouse Margo Squire at the Patriarchate.

“The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia spoke about the current situation in the country and emphasized the necessity of returning the occupied territories peacefully. Patriarch expressed gratitude for the US support.
Ross Wilson noted that the role of the Orthodox Church in Georgia and Georgian people life is great. He reiterated firm position regarding the territorial integrity of Georgia and said that the US will actively support Georgia in this direction.
His holiness handed a memorable gift to Ross Wilson and his wife and expressed wish to deepen cooperation” – the statement released by the Patriarchate reads.
