Patient transferred to quarantine space confirmed with COVID-19 for the second time
The patient, who was discharged from Tbilisi Hospital of Infectious Diseases and was transferred to the quarantine space, was confirmed with COVID-19 for the second time.
Doctor Aleksandre Goginava told Georgian First Channel that the patient was discharged from the clinic two weeks ago after the person twice tested negative on the virus.
Goginava explained that the case does not have to do with re-infection. He said that the virus could remain in a digestive tract, for instance, but in a dead form. The doctor claimed that such a person is not a threat for anybody.
A similar fact was previously detected in Sachkhere, Imereti region.
