The Georgian parliamentary Gender Equality Council released a statement on the occasion of International Women’s Day marked on March 8.
The Council said that the fight against femicide, family violence and early marriages, economic strengthening of women and promotion of their representation in politics represents the priority for the ruling team and the Council is ready to cooperate with municipal gender councils.
“We want to express gratitude to all those, who fight for women’s better future. We believe in achieving great transformations with joint efforts,” the statement reads.
The permanent Council remarked that it is open to useful initiatives and cooperation with municipal gender councils to reach long-term goals.
