“If Gakharia has decided to testify on the Chorchana issue, this fits into his strategy to participate in elections and provide answers to his voters,” Parliament First Vice-Speaker Gia Volski stated.

According to him, the questions facing Gakharia are “serious” and answers must be given.

“This is the type of decision that has been taken against the state, which is characteristic of radical opposition and extremists. Gakharia’s recent steps were aimed at facilitating this destabilization scenario, including the Chorchana issue. This decision could have caused not only Georgia’s temporary loss of over a million square meters of territory, but such a process could have developed that would have rekindled the flames of war and could have ended with grave consequences for Georgia,” Gia Volski declared.
