Parliament to host activity “Parliamentary Control for Women’s Economic Strengthening”
The Georgian Parliament today will host the activity “Parliamentary Control for women’s economic strengthening” on the occasion of Women’s International Day marked on March 8.
The organizer of the activity is the Parliamentary Gender Equality Council, while the technical support is provided by National-Democratic Institute (NDI).
According to the Press Service of the parliament, the welcoming speeches will be given by First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament and Chairperson of Gender Equality Council Tamar Chugoshvili, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Georgia Louisa Vinton and NDI’s Resident Director in Georgia Laura Thornton.
A presentation of the research conducted by the Gender Equality Council will be held within the framework of the activity to be attended by MPs Nino Tsilosani and Guguli Maghradze. The activity will then continue in discussions format.
