Parliament Speaker meets TEPCO Managing Director

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili met with Masaki Honda, a member of the board of directors of the Japanese company TEPCO (Tokyo Electric Company) and the company’s managing director of foreign business.

Shalva Papuashvili welcomed the purchase of a 31.4% stake in the Georgian company “Dariali Energy” by TEPCO Renewable Power, a member of the TEPCO group, which represents Japan’s first largest investment in Georgia.

Masaki Honda spoke about the main directions of the company’s activities in Georgia. The Japanese side noted that due to the renewable energy sources, regulatory environment and geographical location of the country, Georgia is a favorable place for foreign investors.

The parties also discussed possible areas of joint projects, including the development of renewable energy.
