Parliament Speaker meets Danish Ambassador

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Georgia Ane Toft Sorensen.

Shalva Papuashvili congratulated Ane Sorensen on her appointment as ambassador and wished her success in her work. He spoke about the fruitful visit to Denmark. The ambassador noted that on November 1, parliamentary elections were held in Denmark and the process of forming a new government was underway.

In this regard, the Ambassador vowed that all Danish governments would continue to support Georgia’s territorial integrity and reforms, as evidenced by the decision to open the Danish embassy in Tbilisi.

The Speaker spoke about Georgia’s progress on the European integration path. The Danish Ambassador confirmed Denmark’s readiness to support Georgia in fulfilling the 12 recommendations of the European Union.

The conversation also touched upon Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and its consequences, as well as current events in Georgia and the region.
