Parliament Speaker hopes Denmark to support Georgia’s EU candidate status
Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said he hopes Denmark will fully support Georgia’s European integration aspiration and the country’s winning the EU candidate status.
According to Papuashvili, it is the moment when the EU has to say its word about the long-term interests in the region.
“Today is the moment of truth for the European Union to send the right signal to Moldovan, Ukrainian and Georgian people and Russia as well. The decision is significant for the EU itself,” Papuashvili said.
Papuashvili added that there is an accord over the equal attitude towards the Associated Trio.
“It is significant that all three countries and peoples receive the sign of solidarity that they anticipate. They should receive the recognition and support that has to do with our country’s institutional development,” Papuashvili said.
