Parliament Speaker: Georgia cannot be perfect without Europe, but neither Europe can
“Recognition of Georgia’s European Perspective and the involvement in the EU accession process could have been imaginary and a dream for the April 9 generation last year. However, it is a reality today,” said Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili in his Independence Day speech.
The Speaker expressed gratitude to international partners for support of Georgia’s sovereignty.
“Georgia cannot be perfect without Europe, but neither Europe can be perfect without Georgia. On this historic day, I am also grateful to our international partners and friends whose support helps us strengthen our country’s sovereignty.
Amid Russian aggression, peace gains more importance. Therefore, the role of the Georgian Defence Forces is invaluable to our country and people. I address youngsters with a special hope, those who took an oath before God and our flag. I wish you that your service for motherland always be peaceful and full of victories,” Papuashvili said.
