Parliament establishes organizational commission for public consideration of constitutional amendments “On Family Values and Protection of Minors”

With 77 votes pro and two con, the Georgian parliament supported establishing the organizational commission for general public consideration of the Constitutional amendments “On Family Values and Protection of Minors.”

The commission includes Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, Georgian Dream faction Chair Mamuka Mdinaradze, Chairman of the Human Rights and Civic Integration Committee Rati Ionatamishvili, Deputy Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee Irakli Shatakishvili, Chair of the European Integration Committee Maka Botchorishvili, Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee Anri Okhanashvili, First Deputy Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee Davit Matikashvili, Deputy Chair of the Environment Protection and Natural Resources Committee Salome Kurasbediani, Deputy Chair of the Defense and Security Committee Tengiz Sharmanashvili, Chair of People’s Power Political Group Sozar Subari, Chair of European Socialists political group Fridon Injua, a member of For Georgia group Shalva Kereselidze, and the Commission Secretary, Deputy Georgian Parliament Speaker’s Office Nino Shavgulidze.

At today’s plenary, Irakli Kadagishvili, Chairman of the Procedural Affairs and Rules Committee, said that Aleko Elisashvili, leader of the Citizens party, quit the commission at his request.
