Parliament approves 3 new members of Board of Trustees of Georgian Public Broadcaster

The Parliament of Georgia has approved three new members of Board of Trustees of Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB): Zaza Abashidze with 98 votes; Bondo Mdzinarashvili with 95 votes, 13 voted against him; Grigol Murgulia with 92 votes, 1 voted against him.

As for another candidate, 44 voted in favour of Dodo Shonava, 4 voted against her. The quorum for votes should be 76, therefore, Dodo Shonava was not approved as a member of the Board of Trustees.

Abovementioned positions became vacant after the expiration of the term of office of Board Members: Ketevan Mskhiladze, Ninia Kakabadze and Gia Iakobashvili.

The open competition for the selection of members of Board of Trustees of GPB was announced on March 16, however, due to a virus outbreak, it suspended on March 31.
