Para Powerlifting 2024 World Cup for the first time on First Channel Sports

For the first time in the Georgian television space, First Channel Sports offers the Para Powerlifting 2024 World Cup, which kicked off in Tbilisi, Georgia.

It is a summarizing license tournament for the qualification of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games with the participation of 600 delegates from 71 countries, among them World and European Champions.

Georgian Paralympic Committee hosts the tournament. The Georgian 22-member team (16 men, 6 women) will compete in different weight categories.

“Sports Channel is a significant platform for us since it accentuates national sports, our unique archive and live-broadcasting European sport. Parasports is a priority for our channel. In 2021, the Georgian Public Broadcaster offered its audience  Paralympics for the first time. It will exclusively live-transmit Winter 2026-2030 and Summer 2028-2030 Olympic Games. We plan to obtain the license of Paralympic, too,” said Tinatin Berdzenishvili, Director General of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB).

For the first time in the Georgian television space, the channel will offer the TV audience unprecedented coverage of national championships in all disciplines. An inseparable part of First Channel Sports is a unique archive that keeps stories of national sports history and athletes.

First Channel Sports became a partner of EourovisionSport allowing Georgian TV viewers to follow European multidiscipline, among them parasports, championships.

First Channel Sports is available via cable television and the GPB digital platform – 1tvplay.ge.
