Opposition MPs urge President not to convene requested extraordinary parliament session tomorrow
The opposition MPs on Monday appealed to the Georgian President not to convene tomorrow’s parliament session as two opposition MPs, Levan Khabeishvili and Ana Tsitlidze left for overseas unplanned.
As a result, Tamar Kordzaia stated, “The opposition won’t have enough votes tomorrow to back the creation of the investigative commission.”
She went on to say that the session should be held when the opposition is fully represented in the Parliament. “We sincerely regret to the President for this unforeseen circumstance.”
Earlier today, the opposition MPs made a proposal for the President to call an extraordinary session for April 11.
