Opposition MP: GD did nothing for Zurab Adeishvili's to be wanted by Interpol
“The Georgian Dream (GD) did nothing for Zurab Adeishvili’s (Georgia’s former Prosecutor General) to be wanted by Interpol and now attacks Germany. It is an unfriendly move,” said opposition MP, Teona Akubardia.
According to Teona Akubardia, Germany’s support is vitally significant for Georgia on its EU integration path.
“This is another attempt to blame the West for the problems which they created. In the case of Zurab Adeishvili, the Geogian Dream should be blamed, because it did not ensure his being wanted by the Interpol and to generate the perception in the West that Georgia is a legal state.
Regrettably, this became a stumbling issue for the Georgia-Ukraine friendship. The GD erected a barrier in the relationship with Ukraine, which fights against the common adversary,” she said.
Georgian government released a statement on Monday saying hosting Zurab Adeishvili (wanted Georgia’s former Prosecutor General) in the European Union and the Federal Republic of Germany “undermines the perception that European bureaucracy remains loyal to the ideals of a legal statehood.”
