Opposition MP Akubardia: Viewpoints on unified lists differ, public polls to define possible configuration
“There is no number or a neutral list. This process is not going on since viewpoints on unified lists differ,” said opposition MP Teona Akubardia.
According to Akubardia, only the United National Movement (UNM) and the Strategy Aghmashenebeli parties share the idea of the unified election list, while other parties speak about several alternative centres.
“Therefore, results of public polls, to be available shortly, will be the main determinant of which configuration of opposition parties’ unification may take place. The president will not be on any lists and does not participate in the formation of lists and we saw that at the signing of a joint Georgian Charter.
The President will lead the pro-western flank, which is essential for the protection of Georgia’s European future to neutralize the threat, which the Georgian Dream created. There is no number or a neutral list. This process is not going on since the viewpoints on unified lists radically differ.
I am among those, who believe that the unified list, even a neutral one together with the UNM, is not a precondition for all voters, who have pro-western and opposition mood, to show up on Election Day,” she said.
