One of electrocuted teens discharged from hospital; another weaned off ventilator
Ivane Chkhaidze, the medical director of the Iashvili Central Children’s Hospital, confirmed to the GPB First Channel the discharge of the other youngster from the Iashvili clinic. The child’s health, according to Chkhaidze, is satisfactory.
Earlier today, Health Minister Zurab Azarashvili, who visited one of the afflicted children at the New Hospitals, stated that the teens, who were electrocuted in Vake Park on October 13, will most likely be discharged from hospitals shortly. The minister also extended his sympathies to the family of the deceased adolescent girl, adding that Georgian medics did everything they could to save the patient’s life.
The head of the children’s health centre at the New Hospitals, Davit Tsibadze, quickly verified this anticipation by stating that the boy had been weaned off the ventilator as soon as he gained consciousness. His family members had already been in contact with him.
“Certain risks remain, but we have passed the most important 24 hours. We have overcome the effects of anoxia. I’m hoping Lazare will return home soon,” he stated.
Three minors were electrocuted while attempting to retrieve a ball that had fallen into the Vake Park fountain on October 13. One died, while two remained in the hospital.
