One arrested in connection with murder of former MP Samson Kutateladze
Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) arrested one person in connection with murder of former MP, General Samson Kutateladze who was found killed in Rustavi town of Kvemo Kartli region.
MIA says that the person was arrested under Article 236 of Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to the purchase and possession of weapons. According to the Ministry, it is now being established if the detainee is directly linked to the murder. However, the person denies allegations of murder.
According to reports, Giorgi Chanturia, a person detained within the framework of investigation into Kutateladze’s murder case, was the last person who saw the murdered General.
Reportedly, Giorgi Chanturia’s family was a shareholder of Rustavi market years ago. Chanturia was a prosecutor in Kakheti region a few years ago, while now he works as an acting commissary in the city of Rustavi.
Investigation activities continue into murder case of Samson Kutateladze. Officers of Criminal Police examined Kutateladze’s office and keep it sealed. Questioning of the market’s employees continue at Kvemo Kartli regional police department.
Co-owner of so-called Istanbul Market Officers was found killed in his office on January 15. Kutateladze was shot dead by 6 bullets.
