No Georgian citizens applied to Iceland for asylum in May

The applications of asylum seekers from Georgia not fixed in Iceland in May, 2018.

The number of asylum seekers in Iceland increased in 2017 after activation of visa-free regime with EU. Iceland put Georgia on the list of safe countries in July, 2017.

The number of applications for asylum seekers in 2017 was as follows: January – 1, February – 3, March – 6, April – 6, May – 6, June – 40, July – 64, August – 89, September – 39, October – 18, November – 14, December – 3.

2018 Statistics is as following: January – 6, February – 3, March – 1, April – 2, May – 0.
