No explosives confirmed on Wizz Air's plane

Irakli Karkashadze, Director of the United Airports of Georgia, said an explosive on board the Wizz Air plane was not confirmed.

According to Irakli Karkashadze, all passengers are waiting for departure after inspection.

“The Kutaisi-Barcelona flight will be implemented at 7 p.m. The Kutaisi International Airport has resumed usual operations and continues to receive other planes. No other flight was postponed or cancelled,” he said.

The plane of Wizz Air company, scheduled to implement the Kutaisi-Barcelona flight on Wednesday afternoon, turned back and landed at the Kutaisi International Airport due to the threat of an explosive on board.

The Airport Administration said the aircraft returned several minutes after it took off as the crew decided. All relevant services were mobilized to carry out search works.
