Nika Gvaramia: People, political parties, media, NGOs united can achieve everything

“Through unity of the people, political parties, media, and non-governmental organizations, we can achieve anything,” stated Nika Gvaramia, leader of the ‘Coalition For Change.’

Gvaramia responded to the European Parliament’s recent resolution on Georgia, saying “It would be impossible to imagine a resolution more forceful than this one.”

“Two critical steps now lie ahead: ensuring the implementation of these measures in Brussels, while simultaneously expanding and intensifying our protest movements across Georgia. I have no doubt this will come to fruition.

The implementation of economic sanctions holds particular significance, with Great Britain’s participation being especially crucial. While U.S. involvement is certainly vital, discussions within Europe indicate that if unified EU sanctions prove unattainable, individual member states are prepared to impose their own sanctions independently.

As is widely known, Hungary and Slovakia present obstacles in this process. It’s worth noting that Ivanishvili, who holds dual citizenship with Georgia, maintains substantial property holdings in France. This unanimous decision therefore carries exceptional weight.

I believe this outcome was achieved through several key factors: primarily the resolute will of the Georgian people, evidenced by recent polling data and the demonstrations on Rustaveli Avenue. Additionally, we opposition members present here, along with our colleagues in Tbilisi, worked tirelessly. Each representative engaged with their respective party groups, ultimately leading to this significant result,” Gvaramia stated.
