New U.S. Ambassador hands over copies of credentials to Georgian FM
The newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Georgia, Robin Dunnigan, on Thursday, handed over copies of her credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili.
At an introductory meeting, the parties discussed current cooperation issues between Georgia and the U.S. in bilateral and multilateral formats.
The duo highlighted the need to deepen cooperation in all priority areas, including the four directions stipulated by the charter of strategic partnership.
According to the Georgian MFA, Dunnigan reaffirmed the strong and unwavering support of the US for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as for its foreign policy priorities – European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
Furthermore, the meeting reviewed the nation’s progress towards achieving the 12 priorities set by the European Commission as well as the region’s security challenges.
