New academic year starts in public schools

The new school year has commenced in public schools across Georgia. A total of 2,085 public schools have opened their doors to students throughout the country.
The Ministry of Education reported over 55,000 first-graders enrolled in the schools this year, including approximately 48,000 first-graders enrolled in public schools, while around 7,000 will attend private schools.
Minister of Education Giorgi Amilakhvari congratulated students as they embarked on the new academic year.
