NDI – 46% of respondents believe that there is no democracy in Georgia

The 46% of the respondents interviewed by the US National Democratic Institute (NDI) think that there is no democracy in Georgia.

When asked: “How important is it for you to live in a democratic country?,” the 59% of respondents said it was very important, 33% said it was important and 24% said it was not important.

Results to the question – “Is there democracy in the country?,” results were the following: 43% think there is a democracy and 46% think there is no democracy in Georgia. The 11% of respondents did not know how to answer the question.

The poll results reflect the data collected from December 6-20, 2018, through face-to-face interviews with a nationwide representative sample of Georgia’s adult population, excluding occupied territories that included 2,205 completed interviews. The average margin of error is +/- 2.1 percent.
