According to the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), the volume of cash remittances flowing into the country in September 2024 amounted to $283.39 million and 767.3 million Georgian Lari, which is 1.1% less, or $3.0 million lower than the corresponding figure for September 2023.
The National Bank reports that 95.8% of cash remittances to Georgia come from the 23 largest partner countries, each of which contributed more than $1 million in remittances during September. In the same 23 countries, 95.3% of total cash remittances were recorded in August of the previous year.
According to the remittance statistics, the largest amount was transferred from Italy, totalling $49.60 million, followed closely by the United States with $49.03 million. The Russian Federation holds the third spot with $35.82 million, while Germany ranks fourth with $25.52 million, and Greece occupies the fifth position with $24.72 million.
