The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) will issue GEL 5 gold and silver coins dedicated to the historic achievement and qualification of the Georgian national football team for the UEFA 2024 Euro.

The NBG cooperated with the Georgian Football Federation (GFF) on the design that would match the symbolics and brand book of the national team.

One side of the coin will reflect the team’s logo, the main symbol horse-rider (prototyped St. George fighting with a dragon), and the phrase “I am Georgia.” The other side of the coin will be a T-shirt of the national team. The coin will depict inscriptions in Georgian and English languages and the issuance year.

According to the NBG’s Acting President Natia Turnava, the coins will be associated with the success of Georgia and the Georgian national football team.

“As you know, the National Bank of Georgia decided to release a collection coin dedicated to Euro 2024 in March to mark the historical achievement of our national team. We worked together with the Football Federation on the design of the coins, which will be gold and silver. I wish success to the national team of Georgia at the European Championship,” she said.

The coins will be produced at the Lithuanian Treasury and will be in circulation at the end of 2024.
