The leading international publication Central Banking named the National Bank of Georgia the winner in the Transparency Nomination. The nomination includes three key components – education, transparency in stakeholder relations and communication through various platforms.
“When the National Bank of Georgia unveiled a new financial education website, FinEdu, last year, it represented the latest step in a series of initiatives aimed at stirring up transparency at the central bank. Many of these changes followed the appointment of Koba Gvenetadze as governor in March 2016. The former International Monetary Fund economist prioritized improving the quantity of the information released by the NBG as part of a strategic goal to improve communications”, the publication reads.
Central Banking Awards is widely recognized in the international financial community. The Central Banking editorial team and Editorial Advisory Board decided on awards after an extensive process of interviews, research and client reference checks.
