NBG Acting President partakes in Sturgeon Capital Georgia investment summit
Natia Turnava, the Acting President of the Georgian National Bank (NBG), participated in the Sturgeon Capital Georgia investment summit, an annual event of international significance supporting promising digital companies and investing in innovative ideas.
In her speech, Natia Turnava highlighted one of the National Bank’s primary tasks to promote innovations in the financial sector. She emphasized the bank’s commitment to developing financial technologies and introducing new initiatives to enhance the competitive environment.
Among the initiatives mentioned were open banking, a regulation laboratory, and the introduction of a central bank digital currency (CBDC).
Natia Turnava thanked the organizers and expressed a hope that the event, supported by the USAID Financial Innovation Program and organized by Startup Connect, would contribute to fruitful cooperation and partnerships.
