NBG Acting President: None of sanction-related regulations linked to personality
“None of our regulations, including regulations related to sanctions, are linked to any specific personality,” said Natia Turnava, Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), presenting the 2024-2026 Monetary-Crediting and Currency Policy project’s main trends at the plenary sitting in the Georgian parliament.
The NBG Acting President clarified that any regulation aims to protect the Constitution and legislation to meet the banking system’s international commitments effectively.
“Once again, I confirm that we fully comply with international obligations. The banking system is committed to the principle of compliance with sanctions. We will not allow sanction circumvention in our space,” she said.
Turnava added that the rule on the enforcement of sanctions in the case of non-residents was public and available for any interested stakeholder.
