Natia Turnava, Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia, held an introductory meeting with the United Kingdom’s new Ambassador to Georgia, Gareth Ward.
During the meeting, both parties highlighted the close cooperation between the National Bank of Georgia and the Bank of England, focusing on enhancing future collaboration and information exchange on central banking matters, including financial technology development.
Turnava emphasized that Great Britain is a key partner for Georgia and that cooperation with the UK is a priority for both the country and the National Bank.
After the meeting, Turnava described it as fruitful and engaging, noting that she informed Ambassador Ward about NBG’s active measures in monetary policy, anti-money laundering efforts, and the virtual asset service providers’ regulation.
