NATO Military Committee and Georgia hold plenary sitting in Tsinandali
Tsinandali hosted a plenary sitting of the NATO Military Committee and Georgia within the framework of the fourth visit of the NATO Military Committee to Georgia.
Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer and Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze addressed the participants.
The sides discussed challenges of the security environment in the region, Black Sea security cooperation prospects and ongoing reforms in the Georgian Defense Forces.
Georgian Defense Minister noted that the fourth visit of the NATO Military Committee to Georgia is the reconfirmation of NATO’s unwavering support to Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspiration. The Minister underlined that Georgia would continue reforms for modernization of infrastructure and defence systems to improve the interoperability with the alliance that would help Georgia become a NATO member.
“Georgia, as a crucial partner and future member, is an integral part of the Black Sea security architecture per its strategic location and diverse capabilities. The country has the potential and desires to continue to support NATO in maintaining peace and security both in the Euro-Atlantic area and beyond,” Juansher Burchuladze said.

“We want to commend the significant progress that Georgia has made on the path to reforms, which you must continue to help Georgia strengthen its defence capabilities and interoperability with the Alliance,” Rob Bauer said.
NATO Military Committee representatives arrived in Georgia on October 7 to discuss Georgia’s security challenges, NATO-Georgia cooperation prospects and enhancement of the Black Sea security policy with Georgian PM, military officials.
