Javier Colomina, NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, mentioned during a press conference in Tbilisi that discussions about inviting partners to the Washington summit have not yet begun. He emphasized that the focus has been on discussing the substance of the summit, including priorities.

Colomina expressed confidence that Georgia will be represented at the summit, but the specific level of representation remains uncertain. He stated that there are sufficient grounds to believe that Georgia will receive an invitation, and discussions will continue among NATO allies to make the final decision on invitations.

“This is difficult to say who is going to attend the Washington summit. It is a conversation that allies need to have, and it is a decision that has to be taken by allies. In my view, Georgia will be represented somehow. I don’t know at which level, but I believe there is enough substance to consider that Georgia will have to be invited. It is difficult to say whether the invitation will come at the highest level or at the ministry level, but I believe and I’m quite confident that at the end of the day, we will see Georgia representation there,” said the NATO Special Representative.
