National Tourism Administration launches Mziskari project to promote gastronomic tourism

The Georgian National Tourism Administration has introduced a new initiative Mziskari aimed at developing gastronomic tourism by promoting authentic culinary experiences through family-run hospitality.

The project focuses on creating unique offers across Georgia, where host families provide regional dishes and immerse guests in local traditions, including participation in food preparation and cultural exchanges.

According to the Tourism Administration, families joining the Mziskari network under this initiative must meet certain standards, including maintaining an authentic family environment, owning a farm and adhering to safety and food hygiene regulations.

The administration offers several forms of support to participating families, including training and consulting, marketing support, accessibility and financing support.

Currently, eight host families have joined the Mziskari network, and the administration expects more to participate as the project expands.
