Natia Mezvrishvili: Public security can not be protected unless all agencies, including the President, have strict approach to grave crimes

The strict policy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs cannot be enforced and the public security can not be protected in practice unless all agencies, including the President, have strict approach to particularly grave crimes, – Minister of Internal Affairs Natia Mezvrishvili said when commenting on the President’s decision to pardon the person who is charged for killing a young woman at Barnovi Street on April 13.

Mezvrishvili said that Bakradze’s pardoning, who was accused of domestic violence in the past, was not justified.

“I can say one thing about this fact. This man had been accused of domestic violence in the past. He inflicted serious injury to his wife. Now he is charged for killing the daughter of aforesaid wife.  I do not think that the President’s pardon act was justified in this case.

The strict policy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs cannot be enforced and the public security can not be protected in practice unless all agencies, including the President, have strict approach to particularly grave crimes”,  – she said.
