"Namme" by Zaza Khalvashi to be submitted to Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film
Georgia will submit “Namme” directed by Zaza Khalvashi to the 91st Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film.
This decision has been taken through secret ballot at the renovated hall of the Cinema House today.
Six Georgian films were competing for this status this year. The best among them was selected by a nine-member jury staffed by actors, directors and film critics.
Whether the Georgian film will become a nominee for Oscars, will be revealed in December.
The Academy Awards presentation will be held on February 24, 2019.
