MP Samkharadze appointed as Special Co-ordinator for OSCE Election Observation Mission for North Macedonia Elections
Nikoloz Samkharadze, the chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, has been appointed as a Special Co-ordinator for the international election observation mission of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, ODIHR, PACE, and the European Parliament for North Macedonia’s presidential and parliamentary elections.
Ian Borg, the acting OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, appointed Samkharadze following a recommendation from Pia Kauma, president of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
“I am pleased to appoint Mr Nikoloz Samkharadze on your recommendation as a Special Co-ordinator to lead the OSCE short-term observation mission for the parliamentary elections, which will be held in North Macedonia on May 8, 2024, and to present a post-election preliminary statement within his powers.
We wish Mr. Samkharadze and all the observers success in this important mission,” stated Ian Borg.
Additionally, Samkharadze shared a post about his appointment on the social network X.
“Honoured to be appointed by OSCE Chairperson-in-Office as the Special Co-ordinator to lead the international election observation mission of OSCE PA, ODIHR, PACE and European Parliament to North Macedonia’s presidential and parliamentary elections,” Samkharadze posted.
